KUWAIT OLYMPIC COMMITTEE VISITS SHEIKH JABER AL ABDULLAH AL JABER AL SABAH INTERNATIONAL TENNIS COMPLEX

The Sheikh Jaber Al Abdullah Al Jaber AlSabah International Tennis Complex project has been commended by the President ofthe Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Ahmad Al Sabah, duringthe Committee’s official visit to the a first-of-its-kind mega complex in theMiddle East.

Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al Sabah and KuwaitOlympic Committee members were welcomed by Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al Marzouq,Chairman of Tamdeen Group, and Mr. Mohammed Mustafa Marzouq, General Manager ofTamdeen sports company, who hosted the Committee during an official tour of theComplex, which is one of the biggest sports projects in Kuwait and the resultof successful public-private sector partnership.

Tamdeen Group, Kuwait’s leading mixed-use property developer that is reshapingthe urban and social landscape of the country through innovative projects, has designedand developed he Sheikh Jaber Al Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah InternationalTennis Complex, which will be operated by one of its subsidiaries, Spirit RealEstate Development.

Connected directly to 360 Mall, the Complexhas a covered multiuse arena with a capacity of over 5,000 seats and asecondary  stadium of 1,500 seats.  A further eight covered courts and eight opencourts complete the facilities. All courts are equipped with the latestworld-class technology, including ProCushion acrylic surfaces, advancedsoundproofing methods, and folding and fixed seats designed by world-renowned architectand designer Sir Norman Foster, and manufactured by Fugueras.

During the visit, Sheikh Fahad Nasser AlSabah praised the Complex facilities, which are designed according to thehighest international standards. He also hailed the efforts of Tamdeen Group indeveloping the project, lauding the role and capability of the private sectorin carrying out significant development projects in various fields acrossKuwait.

TamdeenGroup is truly humbled to be delivering a world-class project of thismagnitude,” said Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al Marzouq.

Highlighting the private sector’s vital role inimplementing progressive development plans as part of Kuwait Vision 2035, Al Marzouq added: “Through cooperation with Kuwait'sGeneral Authority for Sports and the Kuwait Tennis Federation, The Sheikh JaberAl Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah International Tennis Complex reflects thecapabilities of Tamdeen Group in delivering leading projects that serve ourcountry and citizens. The project is part of Kuwait's commitment to developeconomy, culture, health, education and sports. This landmark Complex willcontribute to the development of sports in Kuwait in general, and significantlyelevate the country’s standing in the global tennis arena.”

Housing the headquarters of the KuwaitTennis Federation, the Complex is also home to an international tennis academy,a five-star hotel, a select group of new retail outlets, and is connected directlyto one of the most popular shopping malls in Kuwait. With these features, theproject is expected to become a unique sports venue – a true first-of-its-kindin Kuwait and the wider Middle East.
