KUWAIT OLYMPIC COMMITTEE VISITS SHEIKH JABER AL ABDULLAH AL JABER AL SABAH INTERNATIONAL TENNIS COMPLEX

The Sheikh Jaber Al Abdullah Al Jaber AlSabah International Tennis Complex project has been commended by the President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Ahmad Al Sabah, during the Committee’s official visit to the a first-of-its-kind mega complex in the Middle East.

Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al Sabah and Kuwait Olympic Committee members were welcomed by Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al Marzouq, Chairman of Tamdeen Group, and Mr. Mohammed Mustafa Marzouq, General Manager of Tamdeen sports company, who hosted the Committee during an official tour of the Complex, which is one of the biggest sports projects in Kuwait and the result of successful public-private sector partnership.

Tamdeen Group, Kuwait’s leading mixed-use property developer that is reshaping the urban and social landscape of the country through innovative projects, has designed and developed he Sheikh Jaber Al Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah International Tennis Complex, which will be operated by one of its subsidiaries, Spirit Real Estate Development.

Connected directly to 360 Mall, the Complex has a covered multi-use arena with a capacity of over 5,000 seats and a secondary  stadium of 1,500 seats.  A further eight covered courts and eight open courts complete the facilities. All courts are equipped with the latest world-class technology, including ProCushion acrylic surfaces, advanced soundproofing methods, and folding and fixed seats designed by world-renowned architect and designer Sir Norman Foster, and manufactured by Fugueras.

During the visit, Sheikh Fahad Nasser AlSabah praised the Complex facilities, which are designed according to the highest international standards. He also hailed the efforts of Tamdeen Group in developing the project, lauding the role and capability of the private sector in carrying out significant development projects in various fields across Kuwait.

Highlighting the private sector’s vital role in implementing progressive development plans as part of Kuwait Vision 2035, Al Marzouq added: “Through cooperation with Kuwait's General Authority for Sports and the Kuwait Tennis Federation, The Sheikh Jaber Al Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah International Tennis Complex reflects the capabilities of Tamdeen Group in delivering leading projects that serve our country and citizens. The project is part of Kuwait's commitment to develop economy, culture, health, education and sports. This landmark Complex will contribute to the development of sports in Kuwait in general, and significantly elevate the country’s standing in the global tennis arena.”

Housing the headquarters of the Kuwait Tennis Federation, the Complex is also home to an international tennis academy, a five-star hotel, a select group of new retail outlets, and is connected directly to one of the most popular shopping malls in Kuwait. With these features, the project is expected to become a unique sports venue – a true first-of-its-kind in Kuwait and the wider Middle East.
