Madinat Al Hareer is one of the largest mixed-use project development concepts in the world. The whole project design was created as a voluntary initiative by TAMDEEN REAL ESTATE Company in collaboration with Ajiyal Real Estate & Entertainment Co. It reflects the company’s vision of Kuwait’s potential to create an integrated and revolutionary designed city that will raise the standard for urban architecture and planning throughout the world - given a collaborative partnership between the private and public sector.

The development plan aims to provide a comprehensive and integrated commercial and residential environment that combines innovation with superior design and would provide a whole new urban space for Kuwait’s ambitious expansion plans.

The project represents a whole new city with four distinct quarters, each harbouring its own city centre. The Finance City, Leisure City, Ecological City and Residential City are designed to provide the highest standards in residential, commercial, retail and leisure facilities to match global standards. A key focus on education and cultural amenities mark this development as a truly integrated solution for a new community.

Madinat Al Hareer – also know as Silk City – is intended to provide an integrated living environment that draws upon the richness of Arabic culture and design while incorporating leading-edge technology and design practices to become a jewel in the crown of top cities in the Arab world.

The project got blessing and approval of The Kuwait Municipality Council and The Council of Ministers. The intended site for this project is the Subiya area, situated in Northern Kuwait which covers approximately 250 square kilometres. The total projected investment for this project is about KD 25 billion.
